![]() ![]() The plot could focus more on the apparent destruction of the human race (I mean the fact the markers just activated on the moon is bad, bad news), the Alien world and the SCAF presence there, and build up better to the DLC, which is honestly one of my favourite chapters in the entire series, instead of, you know, the awkward love triangle between Isaac, Ellie, and Dr Boyfriend which detracted from the narrative and was ridiculously given the context of the story. A remake could tidy up areas of the game that were good, and remold or remake those that were lacking. ![]() But the third game, while I enjoy it, had such ruined potential, and it always makes me sad to go through it again despite actually enjoying it somewhat (it isn't survival horror anymore but having a spinning acid bolas of death was pretty hilarious later in the game). I would love to see a port of the Dead Space 2:Severed DLC though as I've never managed to play it before, though I'm considering using a PS3 emulator to play both that and Extraction this week, and speaking of Extraction this could also be a great addition to the PC ports, and if DS2 were to be remade I could very much see a combination of Severed and Extraction being released either with it, or as an all-in-one DLC (extraction could perhaps be remade in traditional DS style).īut my mind goes specifically to Dead Space 3 when I think of the remake of the first game, as the rest of the series honestly holds up really well, and I love the first game enough that I might not even play the remake because it seems that it would feel odd to do so. I do think a new port might be something interesting if only to fix a few issues with the current version on PC, where V-Sync locks the FPS to 30 and without it you experience terrible screen tearing, and the lack of triple buffering support in game forces many windows users to use 3rd party software like GeDoSaTo. Honestly I think Dead Space 2 is a masterpiece as is, it quite literally doesn't need anything extra in regards to mechanical, narrative, or gameplay complexity, and the gameplay is already super smooth whilst the graphics do hold up very well due to the art direc and rather clear rendering. ![]() I apologize for the length, but I'm rather excited about the idea, and I'd like to share a few things I've been mulling over to see if anyone has their own ideas on the matter. Exactly as the title says, I'm currently replaying the series and was wondering what people thought of remaking the entire series, and if it is at all likely. ![]()
